Let me reiterate: I researched the candidates to see who was running and couldn't find bupkis other than, "he was a fireman." You can't win on planting name signs alone. Winning by 100,50, 28, or 1, is still a W! Allow me to quote you : " Combine a good salesman (toland)" Salesmanship, something Jack was lacking greatly. Politics and Salesmanship are one in the same! Obviously not enough people saw him as a better candidate because in the long run, Chuck won. Nuttin more need be said!

If someone chooses to comment anonymously, it is their prerogative. OF is a small community not to mention other communities have access to these comments. It's a nasty world out there and the last thing one needs is someone on the edge reading one thing on here that would flip them out because they didn't like it! Then showing up on someones door step to take it a step further. It's a small world these days, especially with the internet. People are easy to find, I've had it happen to me. Search your name, you'd be surprised how easy it is, only takes 3 maybe clicks! If phxdr chooses to be anonymous,,so be it. You don't have to like it. I don't like it either. I wouldn't and don't use my name.

The people spoke, Chuck won, end of story. Chuck is very involved in the community, people as a result know Chuck and know of him and like him. Maybe Jack, should have worked a little harder to get his name known out there rather than run on the simple fact he's a fireman. I researched the candidates to see who was running and couldn't find bupkis other than, he was a fireman. You can't win on planting name signs alone. Winning by 100,50, 28, or 1, is still a W! I'm not in the 4th so I didn't vote for Chuck. Quit whining, you come off as a sore loser!

ReplyIf the cars on private property (in your driveway) I do not think constitutionally that they have a right to enter upon the property to check the vehicle without a warrant. Now,,they can always say they thought they saw some one or something lurking and was checking it out and THEN checked the vehicle but how many times can you get away with that excuse! How about we just cruise the neighborhoods at night, and when you see a car perusing neighborhood streets at 2,3,4 a.m. just stopping it to ID if it is someone from the neighborhood OR someone else. If someone from Robbins or Markham or Alsip or Palos or The Heights is perusing and is stopped and can't come off the top of their head with a name and address quick like of whom they were visiting nearby, odds are they're up to no good! besides, locks just keep honest people out. If they really want to get in your car, a spring loaded center punch makes short silent work of the window!

Are the car washes scaling back? I didn't think so, and I don't care if they're a business. We're told to "conserve" while they just continue to just let the water flow. Hypocrisy to say the least. We're held hostage by Oak Lawn at their beck and whim whenever they wish to raise rates. It's a product, I pay for that product, I will use that product as I deem fit when I deem fit. All this is brought to you by the same people who play off of "global warming / climate change" The biggest scam since the shell game!
