The Cook County Sheriff has arrest warrants out for these accused "deadbeat dads"—and one mom—in the south suburbs.
Child support warrants are most often filed when a person neglects to pay child support bills, according to Cook County Sheriff's Office representatives. However, warrants may also be issued in other cases, such as when a person doesn't report to a police department to provide a required DNA sample or when he or she doesn't notify authorities of salary increases. The following child support warrants were listed by the Cook County Sheriff's Office as of Nov. 7: Christopher Dillon, 41, had $62,677.00 in child support payments racked up as of Nov. 7. His last known address was on the 16500 block of Barton Lane in Oak Forest. Authorities say Raymond Kluth, 51, owes $40,939.48 in child support payments. His last known address is on the 18300 …

Police were called last week to 177th Street, where a man was reportedly roaming around a woman's garage.
An Oak Forest man was arrested last week following a suspicious incident in which a homeowner reportedly found him "prowling" around her garage. Police quickly caught up with David J. Hersrud, 23, of the 5100 block of Bellaire Road in Oak Forest, after getting a call around 5:40 a.m. July 18 regarding a prowler in a residence in the 6500 block of 177th Street in Tinley Park. The victim told police that while she was drinking coffee at her kitchen table, she saw Hersrud walking around her detached garage. She called 911 and then saw him leaving her yard, heading down 177th Street, the report said. Police caught up with Hersrud, who they said had been drinking. He told them he had gotten into a fight with his girlfriend and left on foot. …

MONDAY, JULY 16 A $1,500 bar of copper, used for grounding the Verizon cell tower at 7041 153rd St., was reported stolen, according to police. The theft happened sometime between June 6 and July 16. WEDNESDAY, JULY 18 Cassie L. Mendoza, 20, of 5009 W. 159th St. in Oak Forest, was charged with battery, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, underage drinking and disorderly conduct on July 18. Officers were called to a heated argument between neighbors in an apartment complex at 5009 W. 159th. A neighbor had signed a complaint against Mendoza, which officers had tried to deliver to her. A woman steals a bottle of tequila, valued at $118.
A clerk at Stop ‘n Go Liquors told police a man pulled up his shirt, revealing the barrel of a gun, after a female customer had left with a bottle of tequila. The clerk said the woman, who she thought was a regular customer, had been wandering around the store, located at 5214 159th St., and looking at the one-gallon bottles of Patron at around 4 p.m. on July 8. The customer left the store a few minutes later, activating the store security as she went. She came back into the store moments later but the security devices failed to activate a second time. Two boys told police they stabbed by a "man with long hair."
Police are continuing to investigate the stabbing of two 17-year-old boys after the Fourth of July fireworks in Oak Forest. Chief Greg Anderson told Oak Forest Patch Monday there are no new updates in the case. He has said before that the two victims provided little information about the attacker. The two boys told police that they were stabbed near the intersection of Long Avenue and 155th Street. Anderson said late last week that the two boys were somewhat "uncooperative" in providing information to police. They did say that, at about 10:15 p.m., they were stabbed by a man with long hair. SATURDAY, JUNE 30 David A. Schafer, 58, of 8032 Mozart in Chicago was charged with retail theft. Store security at Jewel Foods told police they saw Schafer changing the bar codes on Blu-Ray DVD movies. The new bar codes caused the five movies, valued at more than $130, to ring up $1.99 each. Schafer than paid for his groceries and had walked past the last register when he was stopped by security at about 2:40 p.m. Schafer was arrested and charged with retail theft. The Homer Glen men identified as responsible for an armed robbery in Orland Park Monday night was spotted at a train stop in Midlothian on Friday.
A man accused of robbing an employee at an Orland Park restaurant using a BB pistol, before driving away in the employee’s car and escaping the area after a chase, has been caught, according to authorities. On Friday, a Midlothian police officer saw people described as suspicious around the Midlothian Metra stop at 3750 W. 147th St. around 3:30 p.m. The officer recognized most of the people from past contacts, but didn’t recognize Sarolas, Orland Park Police Commander John Keating said Sunday. Sarolas gave the officer a false name when he was approached, according to a release from the Orland Park Police Department. A pizza delivery driver was robbed of less than $100 while trying to fix a flat tire, police said. The driver wasn't hurt but police are searching for two men suspected in the robbery. Oak Forest police plan to crack down on drunken drivers over the Fourth of July holiday. “The Fourth of July is one of the deadliest holidays due to an increase in drunk-driving fatalities,” said Deputy Chief Dominic D’Ambrosio, in a statement for the media. “Too many people die behind the wheel each year due to those who choose to drive after drinking, so our officers will be out in full force this Fourth of July showing zero tolerance for drunk drivers.” Police officers across the state will be participating in the Independence Day Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket operations. A man who wasn't wearing pants flashed his genitals at two women in a parked car, according to police reports. The victims, one from Oak Forest and the other from County Club Hills, told police on June 22 they had arrived at a house on Scott Street only to find that a party they expected to be there had ended. While the women were discussing what to do next, a man wearing a red ball cap, a white T-shirt and no pants ran up to the passenger side window and started yelling vulgarities. The man also opened the passenger door and attempted to pull one woman’s head toward his crotch. She fought back and the man eventually fled.
