The Battle of the Badges Community Blood Drive, hosted by the Oak Forest Rotary and police and fire departments, takes place Saturday, Dec. 8, at Oak Forest Fire Station #1.
An Oak Forest favorite will return Dec. 8—and organizers are hoping to see the community support come pouring in. It's almost time once again for the Oak Forest Rotary’s annual Battle of the Badges Community Blood Drive. The Oak Forest Rotary's Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive takes place Dec. 8. The drive pits the Oak Forest Fire Fighters and Oak Forest Police officers in a contest to see who residents support more by collecting blood donations. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Oak Forest Fire Department #1. Appointments are recommended for the Oak Forest Rotary Blood Drive on Saturday.
Oak Forest Rotary and the Oak Forest Park District are sponsoring a community blood drive this Saturday. The drive will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Park District Building, 15601 S. Central Ave. Those who make an appointment ahead of time will be honored ahead of walk-ins. To schedule a time, contact Rotarian Jim Watson at 708-687-7026 or the park district at 708-687-7270. A photo ID also is required. Organizers recommend eating at good meal and drinking plenty of water before making a donation.
