Police Issue 78 Citations During Holiday Enforcement Campaign

The second of six traffic campaigns during the 2013 fiscal year yielded 78 traffic citations for Oak Forest drivers during the Christmas and New Year's holiday. Citations were mainly issued for seat belt violations.

Oak Forest drivers kept police busy during the recent holiday season, as police officers issued 78 tickets during the Christmas and New Year's holiday. According to a press release from the police, tickets were mainly issued for seat belt violations, although tickets were also issued for driver's license and drug paraphernalia violations as well. The citations were issued as part of the police department's ongoing involvement with the sustained traffic enforcement program funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
