Amr M. Yasin, 18, faces three felony charges after Midlothian police busted him with fraudulent prescriptions at his home in Oak Forest. Yasin sent another person to fill the prescriptions at a Walgreen's in Midlothian on Jan. 24.
An Oak Forest man faces three felony counts of unlawful acquisition of a controlled substance after sending another man to fill fraudulent prescriptions from Walgreen's, 4800 W. 148th Street, in Midlothian on Jan. 24. Amr M. Yasin, 18, of the 6200 block of W. 157th Street, Oak Forest, was charged after police arrested him at his home after witnessing the handoff of the drugs. A Walgreen's employee called police when a customer tried to obtain fraudulent prescriptions. At the store, Markham police spoke with the man trying to make the purchase, who said Yasin contacted him earlier that day about picking up the prescriptions, as Yasin was sick and had no transportation to the store. Two men face drug charges after cops executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 14700 block of Central Avenue, according to Sun-Times Media reports.
Two Oak Forest men were arrested after a search turned up narcotics in their Oak Forest apartment, Sun-Times Media reports. Joshua White, 24, of 14700 S. Central Avenue, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Rick Green, 49, also of 14700 S. Central Avenue, was charged with both one count of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug equipment, according to the report. Police executed the search warrant at 5 a.m. Tuesday, as part of a narcotics investigation, Police Chief Greg Anderson told Sun-Times reporters. SATURDAY, OCT. 29 A woman in the 5400 block of Grange Avenue told police that someone shot out the driver side, rear window of her van. Police found a large, yellow marble on the carpet. SUNDAY, OCT. 30 A man found a black wallet on the ground outside of the Manchester Court apartment buildings in the 14700 block of Central Avenue. The wallet contained a Trinity Christian College ID card, a Wisconsin driver's license, two debit cards, bank receipts, assorted business cards and wildlife licenses. Tinley police arrested a 19-year-old woman and a juvenile who were found with about 37 grams of marijuana.
A routine traffic stop for a passenger's failure to wear a seat belt turned into a drug arrest Sunday night after police said they found three bags of weed in the backseat of an Oak Forest woman's car. Tinley Park police arrested Larissa L. Demakos, 19, of the 6200 block of Victoria Lane in Oak Forest around 10:55 p.m., according to the report. She was charged with delivery of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. When an officer walked up to the driver's side window of her 1988 Chrysler New Yorker near Harlem Avenue and 159th St. in Tinley Park, he smelled marijuana and saw three plastic sandwich bags filled with "a green leafy substance," the report said.
