D228 Teachers, Students Gain CPR, First Aid Certification
Bremen High School District 228 faculty and students in Child Care II classes within the district recently underwent training to become CPR and First Aid certified. The certification was a new part of coursework in the class.
Seven teachers in Bremen High School District 228, and more than 50 students, are now CPR and first aid certified, thanks to a new initiative in the Child Care II course in the district. The teachers and students gained the certification after one teacher in the district suggested it would be beneficial to both students and staff. “One of the teachers who happened to teach our Child Care II class said she would like to have her CPR certification because she works with little kids on a daily basis,” said April Nykaza, Family and Consumer Science Supervisor at Tinley Park High School.
