Man Hides Steak in Pants: Blotter

Oak Forest police reports, March 18-23 • DUI charge for Park Forest driver • Hit and run, literally • Radio snatched from car • Machine parts go missing.

SATURDAY, MARCH 23 Pamela A. Stewart-Myles, 53, of the 100 block of Dogwood in Park Forest, was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane use, according to a report. Police saw a Silver Ford Escape at about 10:55 a.m. swerving in the 16700 block of Cicero Avenue. An officer reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol on the driver’s breath. She was asked to perform field sobriety tests, after which she was arrested. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20 A man was struck in the back of the neck while checking the mail, according to a report. The victim told police that two men were running away from him after he was hit and fell to the ground at about 9:05 p.m. He lives in the 5000 block of West 159th Street. A $400 Kenwood radio was removed …

Defense: Throw Out Arrest of Drifter Accused in Sex Assault

A public defender for Dennis Dodson, the drifter accused of sexually assaulting a then-83-year-old woman at a Home Depot near Oak Forest, is filing a motion to quash the arrest based on the identification of Dodson in a photo array.

A public defender for a homeless man accused of sexually assaulting an elderly woman is questioning the photo identification of her client and announced Thursday that she is filing a motion to get his arrest thrown out. Dennis Dodson, 36, is currently in Cook County jail and appeared in Judge John J. Hynes' Bridgeview courtroom in his customary khaki Department of Corrections uniform and ponytail. Prosecutors say on Sept. 26, 2011, Dodson wrestled an elderly woman to the ground, and sexually assaulted her behind the Home Depot at 159th Street and Harlem Avenue near Oak Forest, where he was living at the time. She had offered Dodson food and crackers two days prior, and returned to tell him she was working to find him a shelter, according …
