The Consolidated High School District 230 oversees the policies and management of Carl Sandburg, Amos Alonzo StaggMore and Victor J. Andrew High Schools. The three schools are attended by students living in Oak Forest, Orland Park, Orland Hills, Tinley Park, Willow Springs, Bridgeview and Worth, as well as Palos Park, Hills and Heights.

District 230 is managed by a superintendent and three assistant superintendents, as well as a board of directors.

While today the district serves about 73 square miles of towns and villages, it began with in 1919 with University of Chicago graduate Miss Dorothy Emily Davis. She created the first Orland High School, with one 13-student class who met in one room on the second floor of Orland Park's Old Village Hall.

One of three schools in Consolidated High School District 230, Victor J. Andrew High School has more than 2,500More students from Tinley Park, Orland Park and Orland Hills. Robert Nolting is the principal. The Thunderbolts (or T-Bolts for short) offer a wide range of classes, sports, clubs and activities.

The school's overall performance on state tests is below the state average, although its performance on the Prairie State Achievement Examination is habitually above state average.

Carl Sandburg High School is a public school for students from Oak Forest, Orland Park, Orland Hills, Tinley Park andMore Palos Park. Part of District 230, the "Home of the Eagles" has prepared teenage students for adult life since 1954.

Sandburg High School is home to a multitude of athletic, scholastic and performing-arts programs. Several teams have competed successfully in IHSA, including the 2010 championship-winning girls' softball team, the debate team, boys' wrestling, varsity cheerleading, boys' and girls' cross-country and boys' swimming and diving. Several students have been ranked in the National Merit Scholarship Program for academic achievement.

Principal Brad Sikora and school administrators pride themselves on a 96 percent graduation rate, high expectations for academics and successful athletic records since the school's opening in 1970. The school's motto, "Academics plus Activities equal  Excellence," reflects the staff's approach to a well-rounded secondary education experience for students.

Home of the Bengals, the schools offers 27 athletic activities during the fall, winter and spring sport seasons and over 45 co-curricular activities throughout the year.

Reputable alumni include New York Times bestselling author George Saunders and human rights activist Anne Sosin.

Oak Forest High School is conveniently located near Moraine Valley and South Suburban Community Colleges, Governors State University, St. Xavier University and south suburban locations of DePaul, DeVry and Illinois Institute of Technology.
