I don't want to get into a long 'he said, she said' thing here. The Glueck records are good andRead More what the Nazis used, themselves. Although they were disallowed in the Nuremberg Trials, they were cited in the trial and 'General Glueck' was said (without proof) to 'be out of the secret circle'. For anyone who wants to try and gain their own opinion on this, the relevant figure is Rudolf Hoess (not Rudolf Hess), one of the Kommandants of Auschwitz. You can read his testimony at Nuremberg here. http://law2.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/nuremberg/hoesstest.html Please note, this format here doesn't allow for paragraphs so it is not my fault things run together here. It was Hoess's testimony that is called 'the smoking gun' on gas chambers and secret deliberate industrial murder of Jews. You will see it at the very beginning of his testimony where all he answers is 'yes' to all these things stated. Hoess was tortured -severely and often, by first the British (Jewish sergeants and a Jewish Major) and the the Polish (again, Jewish torturers). He was merely answering to a 'signed confession'. The text and format of that Confession as submitted at the Nuremberg trial has been the subject of much scrutiny. It has been said it is clearly a forced confession and of a format that would be disallowed in a real court of law. In 1985, one of the British Sergeants, Bernard Clarke, was often quoted in a book 'Legions of Death' by Rupert Butler about his role in torturing Hoess and forcing the confession. Clarke is proud of what he did. The confession is highly dubious, as we all know from the recent 'water boarding' episodes. Torture is simply used to get 'the results you wanted in the first place'. Admitting this forced confession into the testimony of Rudolf Hoess at Nuremberg gave legitimacy to a thing which should never have happened. In my opinion, the only legitimate record of Auschwitz is the Glueck files, which were denied access in Nuremberg. They were the real-time month by month compilations of 'who was where' used by the German high command. It boils down to this: IF you think the Nuremberg trials were fair and above board, then you will probably think 'millions of Jews' were gassed at Auschwitz. If you examine it and think it is not correct, then there is no other evidence available, other than anecdotal about the 'Holocaust' as it applies to Auschwitz and all the other concentration camps. This should save a lot of time and energy on the matter. Because it boils down to these two points.

Posh. Waterboarding is torture and wrong but it has been shown to have been effective and produceRead More reliable information. William Buckley the CIA Chief of Station in Beirut after being kidnapped was tortured and revealed the identities of his agents. Torture is not ineffective. Glueck's documents are those of the inmates who arrived at Auschwitz for the labor camp and who were worked to death - or gassed after they couldn't work any longer. The people who were gassed immediately on arrival and that is the majority, were not recorded. Eichmann was more involved in the final solution of the Jewish problem than Glueck and he freely admitted to the gassing and killing of Jews. He was proud of his achievements, even if they were done under orders. I have yet to hear what happened to all of the Jews who lived in Europe before World War II and who weren't around afterwards. Oh, I'm sure you have a great explanation for that. And then there were the mass shootings and other killings of Jews in Russia and the Baltic countries by the German death squads and their Baltic nation and Ukranian allies. Not true either, I guess. Please. Your document proves only that there were transports to Auschwitz-Birdenau during the period it was operating. It does not prove that these were the total numbers of people transported into that location or that no one was gassed there. Too many people who survived the camps and who had been there observed the selection and the failure of those who didn't get to the work camp to return. Or ever return again. Your arguments do not and cannot refute the historical inquiries made and made by persons of all religions into the tragedy of the Holocaust and the other crimes against humanity perpetuated by the Nazis. You can't prove that Hoess's testimony is invalid merely by quoting a book which cites a man who claims he tortured Hoess. Hoess is not the sole authority on the extermination program. I do not claim to be, but you are surely not either. With that I close this discussion, whether you respond or not. This article was about a woman who experienced the evils of the camps and survived.

Joe Vince, I guess that I missed the humor in the rest of your story, seemed more like a typicalRead More Patch story. Could you please point out the humorous parts for those of us that missed them (other than the links)? For you to belittle the Medal of Honor and then try to pass it off as some kind of a joke is an insult to all who have served in our military. At this point some would advise you to give up on the comedy and "don't quit your day job", however, I would actually prefer that you do quit your day job and spare the rest of us from your "jokes". If you decide to keep writing, maybe next time you could use a different "stuck up" award in your joke. You could use the Pulitzer, for, like the Medal of Honor, this would be another award that I doubt you will ever receive.
