Growing up in Oak Lawn my parents took us to the one at 105th and western. A few years ago the Food Network had a show "The Best Of" They did breakfast and the winner The Original Pancake House Dutch Baby. The best breakfast in the country. There not the cheapest but they are the best. Also I think they have the best coffee anywhere.
We tavel a lot and have eaten pancakes in most of these United Staes because breakfast is our favorite meal. There are none better than the Pancake House in Oak Forest. It's become our standard to compare others to these tasty pancakes. We even think it better than others in the franchise. We've eaten at the Pancake House in other states too. As long time residents of OF, we.ve been eating there since it opened when it was the only one around. I don't think people realize what we have right here in Oak Forest compared to other breakfast places. The menu has changed, updated some but the quality of the food remains unsurpassed. Apple Pancake, coffee, thick sliced bacon, crepes, all are spectacular.
But they also pay attention to details and serve the best little 4 to 5 inch pancakes, ever!
Been eating Original Pancakes for 30yrs. Always great. Forty-niners are the best. Coffee is always good, never weak. Try the the Dutch baby, bacon and French toast as well. Worth the money.
Always seems packed, but worth it for some good pancakes or whatever else you're in the mood for.
We have eaten at the Pancake House for years. Their food is always excellent and the staff is very nice. A little more expensive than other breakfast places but the food is worth it. Glad they started serving soda because it wasn't on the menu years ago.
I can't imagine anyone saying there are better places for breakfast in Oak Forest. I've loved the Pancake House for years. Yes, they are "slightly" higher in price than your average "Dennys" (for example), but the food - just SO good. Their eggs benedict can not be beat. Their staff is very friendly, and the food is so fresh and well done. I highly recommend this place. Seriously!
Good food at High Prices. There are better places than this and much more reasonably priced.
A little expensive, but decent breakfasts & pretty awesome thick cut bacon. They also have this crazy halloween hot chocolate that is huge & decorated with tons of candy, really good. Pumpkin waffles/pancakes were just okay. Overall, there is better elsewhere for breakfast, but not bad.

Overpriced!
