Shop Garage Sale and Raise Funds for Oak Forest Man's MS Treatment

Oak Forest residents can support a local man's plight for medical treatment by shopping at a multifamily garage sale Saturday, Nov. 2 beginning at 9 a.m. 

Oak Forest resident Kenny Huemmer is battling Multiple Sclerosis, and his family is raising money toward stem cell therapy treatments. Proceeds from the garage sale at 15355 Ridgeland Ave. will help chip away at the cost of sending Ken to Panama for treatment.  Items for sale include: Home items, children's items, costumes, holiday items, sports equipment and collectables.  Many unique items.  Visit Ken's fundraising page. 

SATURDAY, NOV. 2
Craft Fair at Andrew High School: From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
 Saturday and Sunday, parents of Andrew's school musicians will hold the annual Andrew Music Parents Arts and Craft Fair. With over 150 vendors, food and music, holiday shopping can be fun! Last year's show brought out 3,000 people—will you attend this year? Find out more info.

SUNDAY, NOV. 3
Open House at Brother Rice High School: 
Brother Rice High School will host its Open House for prospective students and families on Sunday, Nov. 3.  school will be open from 11 a.m.. until 1 p.m. for parents/guardians and their sons to receive an individualized tour of the school from a member of the National Honor Society. Administration, teachers, coaches, and staff will be present to meet with families and answer any questions regarding Brother Rice and the admissions process. Find out more. 

'Johnny Appleseed' at Governors State University: 
The musical version of this classic tale will be presented by the Virginia Repertory Theatre in association with Governors State University Center for Performing Arts on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. 

Johnny Appleseed is the legendary folk hero who planted apple orchards throughout the Midwest, playing a major role in the settlement of our nation. This rousing, funny new frontier musical is part rollicking adventure, part inspiring history, and 100 percent All-American. Tickets are $10.00 for all ages. Get more info.
