District 146 Students Return to Class Monday


Oak Forest students attending Fierke Education Center and Central Middle School start their first day of classes as Community Consolidated School District 146 begins the 2013-14 year. Don't forget: Patch wants to document kids' first day of school. Find out how you can share your photos and videos from the day.

MONDAY, AUG. 26

Peanut Butter and Jelly Food Drive: The Marley Project, a state nonprofit group, will continue this drive at 9 a.m. at Oak Forest City Hall and the Oak Forest Park District. Find out what nonperishable, back-to-school lunch items you can donate

TUESDAY, AUG. 27

No Public Computers at Library: All public computers at the Acorn Public Library will be unavailable because of a network-wide software upgrade. They will be back online Wednesday, Aug. 28.

THURSDAY, AUG. 29

Healthy Child, Healthy World: This discussion, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Acorn Public Library, will review information to keep families healthy at home and out in the world. Find out more details
