Registration is now open for anyone wishing to participate in the parade. Find out how to register through the city's website.

The parade kicks off at Oak Forest High School at 11 a.m. and will proceed down Central Avenue to City Hall where the tree lighting ceremony will take place. Find out more.

MONDAY, NOV. 4
Open House for Infant/Toddler Program at New Life Church: Stop in for an evening of fun and learn about New Life's infant/toddler play-based early education program.  Through participating in our program, parents learn about child development, age-appropriate play, while creating lasting memories with their children. Children of all abilities welcome. This is also a fundraising event.  Enjoy a gourmet hot chocolate bar, as well as other concessions. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 each or 5 for $20. Prizes include family 4-packs of tickets to the Adler Planetarium, certificates for 6 playgroups for the Come Play With Me Early Learning Program, and many more. Find out more

SATURDAY, NOV. 9
High Conflict Parents Workshop at Acorn Public Libary, 2 p.m.: Learn some strategies for effective communication and negotiation for families experiencing divorce. Our High Conflict Diversion Program/Workshop requires that only one parent understand and implement the strategies we teach. Even with changes incorporated by one parent, the conflict can be stopped. It should be noted that when substance abuse, personality disorders or other issues of this nature (such as a spouse who can’t or won’t “disconnect”) are involved, special and more individualized strategies are required. These are all incorporated into the curriculum and a major focus of the High Conflict Diversion Program.
