Don't Miss a Chance to Build a Gingerbread House

Want to build your own delectable gingerbread house? Families are invited to join the Oak Forest Park District Dec. 14 for a deliciously fun afternoon of gingerbread house making. The supplies are on the park district—all you need to bring is builders to help create the best gingerbread house ever!

Refreshments of cookies, hot cocoa and coffee will be available to snack on while everyone is hard at work. Coloring pages and other Christmas activities will be planned for kids after they’ve finished building their houses. Be sure to stop in and register to save your spot by Dec. 9!

TUESDAY, NOV. 26
Crusader Clash! The 5th annual Crusader Clash seventh and eighth grade athletic competition is set for Tuesday, Nov. 26. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with the games scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. Participants can register as a team or individual. 

Teams consist of 4-6 participants. If you register as an individual, you will be placed on a team for team events. Individual events include soccer kick, hockey shot, basketball hot shot, volleyball serve, baseball speed/accuracy throw, football accuracy throw, weightlifting, standing long jump, chipping, and timed 30 yard dash. 

Team events played are dodge ball, 4 on 4 basketball, and tug-of-war. Awards will be given in all individual events and overall individual Clash Champion, 1st through 3rd places.

Pizza and pop will be served during the awards presentation. Participants can register online, or on the day of the event beginning at 5:30 p.m.
SATURDAY, NOV. 30
Annual Christmas Craft and Vendor Expo: Don't miss this free event at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tinley Park,  6850 W. 159th St. The event will feature nearly 60 local crafters and vendors. Raffles and split the pot will also be offered. Starts at 10 a.m.

ONGOING

Make Christmas Magical for Children in Need: The community is invited to help spread holiday cheer to those in need by participating in the "Toys for Tots" drive. Toys for Tots collects new, unwrapped toys for local children in need. All donated toys should be new in sealed boxes and dropped off unwrapped by Friday, Dec. 13.

Sign Up Now for Oak Forest Relay for Life 2014
Residents ready to hit the track for a good cause might have to wait to walk—but they can sign up now. Registration is now open for Oak Forest's Relay for Life 2014, to be held Friday, June 20. 

Register for the Oak Forest Fleadh 5K:
 The Fleadh is coming and registration for the 5K, which kicks off at 8:30 a.m. March 8, is already underway. The cost is $30 for pre-registration and $35 for registration the day of the race.
