Watch 'Tangled' in the Park Friday Night

The first Movie in the Park of the summer is tomorrow. Don't forget a blanket or chair!

The Oak Forest Park District is inviting the community to the first of the summer on Friday.

They'll be showing Disney's Tangled, an animated loosely based on the German fairy tale Rapunzel, starting at dusk in .

Bringing a blanket or chair is probably a good idea. Concessions will be available.

Everyone who comes receives a free raffle ticket for a chance at some prizes. This year, they include White Sox tickets and gift certificates to Jack Frost and the Original Pancake House

The park district also is in the running for a 20-foot screen, projector and speakers. The system is the grand prize in a contest hosted by Open Air Cinema that ends Friday.

Here's how you can help:

  1. "Like" Open Air Cinema on Facebook.
  2. Click the "CineHope" tab on the left.
  3. Find the OF Park District in the list of contestants.
  4. Click "Vote!"
  5. If you want to spread the word, click "Rally" and you'll find a few different options for re-posting the contest.

Find Oak Forest Patch on Facebook and watch for more info about the Park District!

Disappointed once again to not see 7th heaven on the roster. They have the best vocals out there,Read More even without their lead singer Keith Semple who defected to start a solo act. This band actually gets radio air play. Haven't heard any of the others at Oakfest on the radio.

Have any of you whiners ever seen the crowd at OakFest when Infinity is playing?? There are wallRead More to wall people in the tent and out into the grass around the tent! I agree that 7th Heaven was very good as well but maybe their price tag got too high for a neighborhood fest....

Stephanie, not sure how to do so. Joe, thanks for your concern. We are still hoping to find someoneRead More here that may know of the dog. We are not looking to cause it any harm, just looking for information.

I hope that you find the owners of that pet! I bring my black Shepherd up there when we go...oneRead More reason I don't let my dog go with neighbors is because neighbors can't control him like we do. The owners should have been more responsible. I'm glad that your daughter is alright and I hope that you find the owners of this dog!

I dare anyone to name a more dangerous intersection then that. The turn from 147th st west bound toRead More southbound Oak Park is the worst I've seen. One slip and your car goes down a ravine 20 feet. The civil engineer and county people who approved that design should be called out. We NEED HELP!
