When an inner-city youth team lost of all its equipment in a robbery, the Oak Forest Baseball Association stepped to the plate and provided new gear for the Chicago Hornets.

Oak Lawn senior cross country standout Eric Lindelsee was born deaf. He runs without his hearing aid. To begin a race, he watches for the puff of smoke from the starter's pistol. And, then, he's off. 

The par-3 seventh hole at Palos Country Club is regarded as one of the toughest holes on the course, redesigned in 2004 by renowned golf architect Ken Killian. Pro shop manager Kalynn Banks demonstrates how to play the hole.

Kristie Lowell, an Orland Park resident who trains at Tumbling on USA in Mokena, is headed to the World Championships in November.

In 1976, Jim Adduci helped Brother Rice win its first state championship. Later, he went on to play collegiate baseball and then spent time in the major leagues. Today, he works for the Bulls-White Sox Training Academy and he roots for his son, a minor league outfielder in the Cubs organization.
