Oak Forest's Emily Naegele hit a three-run game-winning homer in a 5-2 softball victory over Lincoln-Way East.

Emily Naegele will have plenty of memories to cherish from a remarkable softball season.

One will the the game-winning three-run homer she hit to power Oak Forest to a 5-2 victory over Lincoln-Way East when the two met to wrap up regular-season play. Naegele connected for the walk-off blast in the bottom of the seventh inning, snapping a 2-2 deadlock.

In the bottom of the second, Oak Forest shortstop Jourdan Skirha hit a solo homer. Then, two batters later, designated player Ashley Ventrella smacked a solo homer herself, and the Bengals led 2-0.

Lincoln-Way East  tied the score in the top of the third on an RBI double by Carissa Ernat and an RBI single from Aubrey DeGroot. Sarah Esposito and Kacyee Hart each pitched 3.1 innings for the Griffins.

Oak Forest 's  Emily Norton (7 innings pitched, 7 strikeouts, 2 earned runs) went the distance to earn the win. Skirha (1-for-3 with a solo home run) and Ventrella (1-for-2 with a solo home run) were two of the other Bengal heroes.
