Oak Forest Summer Baseball Season Ends in Regional

The regular-season Class 3A state runners-up earned a pair of victories in the Phil Lawler Summer Classic before falling to Mount Carmel.

Oak Forest High School’s baseball team was back in state tournament action this past week.

While the Bengals made it to the semifinals of the Richards Regional of the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association Phil Lawler Summer Classic, they couldn’t quite muster the same magic they found during their run to state runner-up status in the spring.

On Wednesday, the Bengals fell 14-2 to Mount Carmel, ending Oak Forest’s summer season. Earlier in the week, the Bengals defeated Bradley-Bourbonnais 10-9 and downed Richards 7-4.
