Oak Forest Native and Marian Catholic Grad Eggert Shines at St. Louis University

Oak Forest native and Marian Catholic High School grad Mallory Eggert has been named women's basketball Performer of the Week by Pickin Splinters.

Oak Forest native and Marian Catholic graduate Mallory Eggert is doing double-duty work these days for the St. Louis University women’s basketball team.

Eggert, a 6-2 junior forward, averaged a double-double in scoring and rebounding in games last week against Wisconsin (48-46 loss) and Florida Atlantic (70-63 win). And she has been rewarded for her diligence.

Eggert has been named Performer of the Week by Pickin Splinters, a Website that covers Atlantic 10 Conference and Metro Atlantic Conference basketball.

She scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the Billikens’ loss at Wisconsin. And she followed up with a career-high 14 points and team-high 14 rebounds in their win over Florida Atlantic.

Eggert is the team’s second-leading rebounder (7.3) heading into tonight’s game against Missouri-St. Louis at Chaifetz Arena. Tip-off is at 7.

She ranks fifth in offensive rebounding (3.6) in the Atlantic 10 Conference and 10th in total rebounding. She is scoring a 6.4 clip for the Billikens (3-6), who are tipping off a three-game homestand.

Eggert was a four-year letterwinner at Marian Catholic under coach Annie Basic.
