Oak Forest Football Standout Coleman Casts His Lot With Indiana

Oak Forest's Tevin Coleman is speeding off to play in the Big Ten.

Coleman, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound senior running back with blazing speed, announced his commitment to play for Indiana on Tuesday, according to a report by Jeff Curtis on Indiana Hoosiers Examiner.com.

Coleman helped Oak Forest post a 7-4 record last fall. The Bengals reached the second round of the Class 6A state playoffs before falling to South Suburban Blue Conference rival Lemont 35-14.

Rivals.com ranked Coleman as a three-star recruit and one of the top players in the state of Illinois. He rushed for 948 yards, scored 21 touchdowns and was credited with 44 tackles. He played safety on defense.

He placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.86 at the IHSA state track and field meet last spring.
