Former Bengals Quarterback Shines for Minnesota State University

Jon Wolf, an Oak Forest High School football star and graduate, led the Minnesota State University Mavericks to the NCAA Division II Football Championship Semifinal this year, falling to Valdosta State 35-19 on Dec. 8.

Former Oak Forest Bengals quarterback Jon Wolf, the son of Alderman Diane and Chuck, had a stellar career for the Bengals. Wolf, a three-year starter with the Bengals, finished his senior year with more than 1,000 yards passing and rushing, along with 21 total touchdowns in 2009 and was named to the IHSA All-State 6A team.

After graduation, Wolf matriculated to Minnesota State University, where he currently is the starting quarterback for the Mavericks. Wolf assumed the role this past spring, after being named the team's most outstanding offensive newcomer as a freshman in 2010, and splitting time at running back, wide receiver and quarterback during his sophomore campaign.

This year, Wolf averaged about 217 yards per game as the Mavericks starting quarterback, leading the team to the NCAA Division II Football Championship Semifinal.
