Bremen executes perfect pass, Sherman Carter scores game-winner at the horn to deflate Oak Forest.
The play-to-the-end mentality that has defined the Oak Forest vs. Bremen boys basketball rivalry over the years took the forefront once again.
On Tuesday night, Bremen defeated Oak Forest 56-54 on the Bengals' home court. Sherman Carter received a bounce pass from Quadriquez Williams and scored the winning points as the horn sounded.
“Teams have their ups and downs, and you've got to play through it," Oak Forest coach Matt Manzke said. "When we play Bremen, it is always down to the wire. We missed some key defensive stops in the fourth quarter, and they went away with a victory. Yes, we were looking for a lob at the end but they had a perfect pass and hit the shot."

“We used the play a couple years ago," Bremen coach Matthew Meany said. "So, I called on my two seniors that are used to it. Quadriquez (Williams) and Sherman (Carter) executed it perfectly to give us the win."
On both sides, players and coaches agreed. You could look at any part of the game and say, "Could of, would of, should of." However, with 40.1 seconds left, the Bengals’ Tim Loeding fouled out sending Bremen's Isaac Stringer to the line to sink two free throws and tie the score 54-54.

Sophomore Score: Oak Forest 48, Bremen 46. James Blake (17 points) and Blake Waller (11 points) led Oak Forest. Devonta Wilson (19 points) paced Bremen.
