Extra Points: Oak Forest's Williams Makes Senior Night Memorable
Jimmie Williams ensured that his last time playing on his home court was a good experience as the Bengals held off Lemont on Friday night.
For Oak Forest senior guard Jimmie Williams, Friday night's game against Lemont wasn't just another game. It was his one last chance to play on his home court, and he wanted to make it a night he'd never forget.
"I was so pumped for this game," Williams said. "The crowd got me pumped. My team, the coach and my family got me going."
Williams led the Bengals with 17 points and grabbed four rebounds in Oak Forest's 63-49 win over Lemont. Bengals head coach Matt Manzke said that even though Williams has stepped up before, he definitely stood out in this matchup.

"He (Williams) was just determined on his Senior Night to make it a great experience," Manzke said. "He was all the difference. He was great defensively, and 17 points is huge for us."
Williams said it felt great to post the numbers he did, but that he couldn't have done it without some help.

"The team played great, we all played together," Williams said. "It was a team effort—I couldn't have done it without them."
The Best Play: Marcus Burse made a huge stop for Oak Forest under the basket early in the fourth quarter, which stopped the Indians in their tracks.
A Look Ahead: The Bengals (6-19) will play Fenger at the Rich East Regional on Monday night. Lemont will host Julian Monday night.
The Sophomore Score: Lemont 51, Oak Forest 44. Lemont's Blake DiBartelo lead the way with 16 points. Oak Forest's Blake Waller scored 11 points.
