Athlete of the Week: Hoffmeister a Key for Oak Forest's Turnaround Season

Bengals girls soccer star Jaclyn Hoffmeister scored a crucial goal in the team's tie with Mother McAuley.

Bengals junior midfielder Jaclyn Hoffmeister scored a crucial goal on a free kick from well beyond the box against McAuley.

Hoffmeister has been a catalyst for the Bengals. She has three goals on the season, and 11 in her career. She also has six career assists.

With her performance, she has been named Patch’s Athlete of the Week.

“I think this is the most successful we’ve been ever, or in a long time at least,” Hoffmeister said of the Bengals this season. “We had a really young team my freshman year and we’ve all been working really hard together.”

Oak Forest will play Bremen in the Class 2A Lemont Regional on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Earlier this season, the Bengals beat Bremen 6-0.

“I can’t wait to see how we do in regionals,” Hoffmeister said.
