St. Damian Sends Off Class of 2011 with Tradition—and Memories

The ceremonies began with the Baccalaureate Mass the morning of Wednesday, June 1. Later that night, graduates' families filed into the church for the school's official graduation ceremony—complete with diplomas and tassels.

They went out with style—St. Damian style.

The school's class of 2011 stepped out of their childhoods and into high school Wednesday, June 1, with dual ceremonies and opportunities for the girls to don powder blue, and the boys the school's royal.

The Baccalaureate Mass was held at 10 a.m., and was almost entirely student-organized and student-led, said Principal Colleen Domke. Later that night, the graduates' families filled the church with high hopes, helium-filled balloons and bouquets of fresh flowers.
