Oak Forest seniors Jan Neri and Tim Renshaw battled into the semifinals and then placed third in doubles competition at the Homewood-Flossmoor boys sectional tennis tournament.

Oak Forest's Jan Neri and Tim Renshaw played a lot of tennis together over recent days and months. So, they didn't mind putting in a few more hours in order to survive a battle at the Homewood-Flossmoor sectional.

Neri and Renshaw played in one of the longest quarterfinal matches of the day on Friday (May 20), then returned on Saturday (May 21) and placed third. The two seniors capped a stirring run with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Andrew's Orlando Lopez and Greg Faloona.

Neri and Renshaw led Oak Forest to a fourth-place finish in the sectional. The Bengals scored 11 points. Marian Catholic claimed the team title with 26 points. H-F was second with 24, followed by Andrew with 23.
