Students at Fierke Education Center had some special guests Thursday.

It's A Pittie Rescue stopped in to teach students about the rescue organization, and introduce the students to pit bulls Ariel and Potter.

"We all had such a wonderful time and the kids at the school asked great questions," wrote the organization on its Facebook page.

Each child went home with a goodie bag with an IPR bracelet, a postcard with the dog's picture on it and some candy.

The group is based in Peotone, and takes in abused, neglected, and unwanted bully breeds of all ages. The dogs are placed into loving, caring foster homes until they are adopted by responsible new owners. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, micro-chipped, and "showered with the love they so deserve."
