Oak Forest Varsity Cheerleaders Snag Second Place in State

OFHS varsity cheerleaders secured a second-place finish in the state this weekend, edged out by Arlington Heights—by less than one point.

It was a close one, and in the end less than a point stood between varsity cheerleaders and competitor Arlington Heights. 

The Bengals capped off an exciting season with a second-place finish in the IHSA state cheerleading finals, after Arlington Heights eked ahead by .76 points, according to IHSA.org

OFHS was up against 25 other schools Feb. 2–3, in the medium team division of the competition held Bloomington-Normal.

The Bengals season included a national championship at JamFest Jan. 13–15, followed by conference and sectional championships.
