It was a close one, and in the end less than a point stood between varsity cheerleaders and competitor Arlington Heights.
The Bengals capped off an exciting season with a second-place finish in the IHSA state cheerleading finals, after Arlington Heights eked ahead by .76 points, according to IHSA.org.
OFHS was up against 25 other schools Feb. 2–3, in the medium team division of the competition held Bloomington-Normal.
The Bengals season included a national championship at JamFest Jan. 13–15, followed by conference and sectional championships.
