Mark Your Calendar: District 228 Preparing for Quite a Fine Arts Show

Bremen High School District 228 students and faculty are hard at work to put on a great arts show. Will you pencil them in?

Students and faculty throughout Bremen Community High School District 22838th Annual Fine Arts Festival Concert and Art Exhibit.

The free event will be held March 15 at Bremen High School, where the doors will open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will include performances by the District 228 Festival Concert Choir, Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble. Guest conductors include three outstanding college educators and musicians.

The District Chorus will be conducted by Dr. Eric Johnson, Director of Choral Activities at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, and Dr. Robert Lark, Director of Jazz Studies at DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois will serve as conductor of the District Jazz Ensemble.

Dr. Ross Kellan, Director of the Elmhurst College Symphonic Band and Director of Music Education at Elmhurst College, in Illinois, will serve as conductor of the Symphonic Band. The Festival will be highlighted with an exhibit of outstanding artwork created by the art students of the four high schools—Bremen, Hillcrest, Oak Forest, and Tinley Park high schools.

From the district: The BHSD 228 family sincerely hopes that you will be able to share with them the artistic accomplishments and musical talents that will be exhibited at this evening.  Please join us on March 15, 2012 and support the efforts of Bremen High School District 228’s  outstanding young artists and musicians.

The district includes students at Oak Forest, Tinley Park, Bremen and Hillcrest high schools.
