Forest Ridge School District 142 Superintendent Resigns

Dr. Orzel has been in the role since July 1.

District 142 Superintendent Dr. Courtney Orzel is resigning her post for a position at another district, she announced Wednesday. Her last day will be June 30.

The school board is expected to accept Orzel’s resignation at its scheduled March 18 meeting, she said.

Orzel has been superintendent since July 1, and with the district for 8 years. She has not disclosed her new employer, because that district has yet to announce her appointment.

In a letter to the board, Orzel thanked its members, saying their collaboration contributed greatly to her success as a superintendent.

"Without each and every one of you, I would not have become the administrator I am today," Orzel wrote. "For that, I thank you, and I want you to know that no matter where my road may lead me, I will forever be grateful for the experiences that I have had here at 142."
