South Suburban College Human Services Program to Host Open House

The Human Services program at South Suburban College is hosting an Open House on Wednesday, June 22, from 6:30-8 p.m. in Room 3482 of the main campus.

The Human Services program at SSC prepares students for challenging and satisfying work with individuals, families, groups, and communities so that social functioning may be enhanced and the quality of life improved. The program offers a degree in Human Services with an option to receive a certificate from the Advanced Training Program in Addiction Studies. This certificate training prepares students for the state C.A.D.C (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) examination.

A typical program of study consists of 63 credit hours or coursework that may be taken on a full-time or part-time basis.  The Human Services program introduces students to the field of professional helping by offering a cluster of courses that are the foundation for further study.  Students who are interested in social work, counseling, and addictions studies will learn from the carefully developed curriculum designed to give them both an overview of the helping field and an opportunity to experience it through a field practicum and internship.
