Job Club Meeting, of the Chicago Southland Job Hunters Network

The Chicago Southland Job Hunters Network, facilitated through Sundance Group, Inc. (of Oak Forest)  since 2008, reaches out to individuals affected by workforce reduction, layoffs or company closure.

Currently we meet at the Bootsma Cafe at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights.

It’s an ideal group to get involved in if you are serious about your job search. You will not only improve your
networking skills, you’ll learn to polish up your resume & cover letter, and sharpen your interview skills along the way.

Currently, our meetings are held in Palos Heights, IL on assorted Tuesdays – at the Bootsma Bookstore Café (6513 W 123rd St.) in Palos Heights. A more intimate group than some, our meetings are lively, supportive, and full of
dynamic discussion. There is a mutual sharing of job leads and job hunting experiences. Even if you are in career transition, or returning to the workforce after a long absence, you'll find this group to be time well spent.
Learn what others in your community are doing to find work.

Surrounding yourself with an empowering community will help you focus and increase your self-worth while connecting with others through social networking
and even mentorship.

You will learn from an insider’s perspective, about what companies look for when recruiting and making hiring decisions. We’ll discuss everything from the major online job boards, niche sites and other avenues to job hunting. Meetings have included topics such as using LinkedIn for your job search, how to request and supply references, when and how to contact an employer after an interview
has taken place. Additionally, structured workshops have been offered to address some of these topics in more depth.
