BOOK REVIEW: 'Hush Hush'

Cute guys now have wings! Could life get any better people?!

Hush Hush

By: Becca Fitzpatrick

As a general rule, sequels are never as good as the origional. To name a few, Transformers, Ghostbusters, The Hush Hush Saga, CARS! Like annoying people, it's just a part of life.

As far as firsts go, Hush Hush for me ranks at about a 6. The plot line is pretty good, although can get a little bit tangled at points, so for me theres a bit of confusion. There's also alot of really wired language and plot points and twists that just didn't need to happen, so they just slow down the pace of the novel even more.

Beyond everything else, the thing I find more annoying is a little bit harder to get around: the main character. Have you ever read a book where one of the characters is so stupid and makes the worst decisions possible that it just makes you want to throw the book against a wall and hit the person while you're at it? Nora Grey is the worst one I've faced so far. In the first one, she makes a few stupid decisions, but doesn't everyone? The further the series goes on, the worst she gets. In the first 30 pages of the second and third books I stopped reading them and just skipped until the end because she was so stupid and I couldn't take it. Don't really think I missed much either way though so it's all ok.

Those of you who read this blog continually know my obsession with cute fictional boys. My softness for a real love to a boy that only lives within words and pages is one of this series saving graces. He goes by Patch (talking about Patch on Patch! Oh irony.....) and his rugged good luck could leave a girl breathless, not to mention theres so much more to him that can be extremely swoon worthy. That being, he has wings.

I'll just let you think about that for a minute.

Guessed the whole plot for the series by now?
