Sunday's Unusual City Council Meeting Could Last a While

Oak Forest aldermen, Mayor Hank Kuspa and department heads will huddle up during a special city council meeting Sunday at 10 a.m.—and they'll be there as long as it takes.

aldermen, Mayor Hank Kuspa and department heads will hunker down for a special meeting Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m. for "as long as it takes."

The council will take a close look at the city's $25 million in capital improvement needs for 2012-2017 and "figure out exactly what is needed now, what can be put off for a while, and how we can fund it," said Ald. Chuck Toland (4th Ward), in an email announcing the meeting.

The council typically meets every other Tuesday evening. The Sunday meeting was scheduled to accommodate all department heads and to address all topics at once, rather than over the span of a few weeks' worth of meetings in the evening.
