Quinn Signs Senior Financial Disclosure Bill At Bremen Township

Gov. Pat Quinn signed a bill designed to raise communication needs between nursing homes and residents, their families and guardians regarding financial information.


Gov. Pat Quinn signed Senate Bill 1197 Friday while at the Bremen Township Senior Center Friday afternoon. 

The bill is an amendment to the Nursing Home Care act that requires nursing facilities to provide written statements to residents, their families and guardians about asset and income disclosure requirements.

The bill was sponsored by State Senator John Sullivan (D-Quincy), State Rep. Daniel Beiser (D-Alton) and State Rep. Elgie Sims Jr. (D-Chicago).
