Longtime Oak Forest City Clerk Wins Another Term

Oak Forest City Clerk Scott Burkhardt will serve four more years, after beating newcomer Carl Stegner.

Longtime Oak Forest City Clerk Scott Burkhardt will serve another term. Burkhardt unofficially beat opponent and newcomer Carl Stegner, according to vote totals late Tuesday night.

With all precincts reporting, Burkhardt has unofficially beaten challenger Carl Stegner, 1,823 votes to 514. Of its 19,310 registered voters, 2,424 people voted, for a roughly 12 percent turnout. 

"I'm very humbled, honored that the citizens chose me for another term," Burkhardt told Patch. "I'm grateful. I have wonderful friends, and family. Oak Forest is a wonderful city, full of great people."

Burkhardt has served as Oak Forest City Clerk since 1997.
