Jesse Jackson Jr. in Plea Deal Talks, Sun-Times Columnist Says

Jackson is in ongoing talks with federal investigators about a plea deal, Michael Sneed's sources are saying.

The same congressman that grabbed 64 percent of the vote to win his district back could be working on a plea agreement with the feds, according to longtime Sun-Times columnist Michael Sneed.

“No one has pled guilty, but plea discussions are ongoing,” one of Sneed's sources told her.

Some of the information being revealed in a federal investigation could be damning for Jesse Jackson Jr. The congressman may have used campaign funds to buy a $40,000 watch for a female friend, according to Sneed's sources. Jackson is under criminal investigation under suspicions that he used campaign funds to decorate his Washington D.C. home.

According to Sneed, if Jackson pleads guilty or is found guilty, he will have to give up his seat and a special election would be held.

Jackson is reportedly still in the Mayo Clinic after returning last month.

If the Tribune considered Debbie Halvorson - who had actually served in congress, to be "alarmingly unqualified" to represent the District, what would they make of our friend Marcus???

The Tribune is a republican publication. Enough said.
