Hullinger to Lead City's Strategic Planning Committee

Mayor Hank Kuspa appointed the 5th Ward alderman to head the process during Tuesday's City Council meeting.

Ald. Nancy Hullinger (5th Ward) will help develop a plan for Oak Forest, as head of the next strategic planning committee.

Mayor Hank Kuspa announced Hullinger's role at Tuesday's city council meeting.

Discussions exploring potential city improvements will begin in May and will focus on a select few projects, said Mayor Hank Kuspa. Input from residents, business owners and other city officials will be incorporated. Department heads and other staff will become more involved as future plans develop, Kuspa said.

"You learn a lot, and you can really get some good ideas," Hullinger said. "It starts off with a small group and it builds and builds and builds, until you have a finished product."

  • Dennis Siebelt was appointed to the Oak Forest Veterans Commission. Siebelt is a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1968 until 1971, with tours of duty in Vietnam and Germany.
  • Jim Stuewe, Robert Oostema and Wayne Schroeder were reappointed to their roles in the Planning and Zoning Commission. "All I can say is I served with all three of these gentlemen, and they take their work with the planning and zoning commitee very seriously," Kuspa said.
