Help Public Works: Clear Your Fire Hydrant

Crews continue cleaning up massive amounts of snow in city; shovel out hydrants to help out.

City staff asks that residents assist with blizzard cleanup by shoveling out fire hydrants nearby their homes, if possible.

Crews are currently working to clear courts, cul-de-sacs and fire hydrants in Oak Forest, said Public Relations Coordinator Chrissy Maher. If residents are able to shovel out hydrants near their yards, it would be helpful. The Oak Forest Fire Department will also be working with public works to clear around the hydrants.

The department is preparing for an additional two to four inches of snow that could fall on the area over the weekend, Maher said.
