City Meetings: Who's Gathering This Week (June 10-14)

Patch tells you what boards, commissions and other panels are holding public meetings. This week, members of the Oak Forest Fire Department will be honored at the City Council meeting Tuesday.

Each week, Patch will list the various City of Oak Forest commissions, committees and other governmental bodies that are meeting over the next five days. These listings will note the top items on the agenda, as well.

Meetings are held at City Hall unless otherwise noted. Under the state's Open Meetings Act, notice of public meetings and their agendas must be posted at least 48 hours in advance. Agendas and minutes from past meetings can be found at the city website.
MONDAY, JUNE 10
Streetscape and Garden Club, 7 p.m., Council Chambers: A discussion on who will be in charge of the Forest in Bloom Contest is on the agenda. Go to the city's website for a complete agenda.

TUESDAY, JUNE 11
  • Safety Committee, 1:30 p.m., Council Chambers: No agenda was posted on the city's website as of Monday morning.
  • City Council, 8 p.m., Council Chambers: The agenda includes approval to waive bidding to buy trees for city parkways and a vote on whether or not to spend no more than $45,000 on water meters and telemetry units. Members of the Oak Forest Fire Department also will be recognized for achievements, including the swearing in of one firefighter. Go to the city's website for the complete agenda.
