City Council Marks End of Two Eras

Aldermen at Tuesday's city council meeting made it a point to highlight the end of a career and a remarkable baseball season.

It might have been a while since Oak Forest Police Deputy Chief David DeMarco donned his formal blues, but he wouldn't have appeared in anything less before the city council Tuesday, June 28.

Mayor Hank Kuspa and aldermen honored DeMarco for his 28 years of service to the police department and Oak Forest community with a proclamation in his name. DeMarco . His last day will be July 4.

After DeMarco's recognition, the council shifted its focus to the State runner-up Oak Forest High School baseball team. With most of the players in attendance, the council proclaimed its respect and admiration for the exciting season the Bengals recently wrapped up.

Head coach Thad Gatton thanked the council and community for its support of the team, also applauding the leadership of senior Bobby Sheppard.
