Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting on Dec. 10

Oak Forest will kick off the holiday season next week with a parade to City Hall and a tree lighting ceremony.

Santa will help Oak Forest Mayor Hank Kuspa ring in the holiday season at the city's annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Parade on Saturday, Dec. 10.

The parade kicks off at 11 a.m. from and will proceed down Central Avenue to . Participants are asked to line up at 10:30 a.m.

The top three trees and three honorable mentions from the trim-a-tree contest will be announced after the tree lighting.

Afterward, everyone is invited to to visit with Santa and enjoy light refreshments.

Guests are asked to donate an unwrapped toy to the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation, which provides comfort and distraction to children undergoing cancer treatment. The donation box will be at the fire station.
