A Sixth Files as Write-In Candidate for 7th Ward Seat
The deadline has passed for residents to file as write-in candidates for the 7th Ward alderman seat; one additional resident has filed.
A final candidate has filed as a write-in for the 7th ward alderman seat, bringing the total number of candidates to six. Resident Grace Bardusk joined the lineup of former Mayor Bernard Kelly and four others before the Feb. 3 filing deadline.
Last month, two additional residents also added their names to the list of write-ins for the position. Mark Keating and William R. Bockstahler, Jr. joined former Mayor Bernard Kelly, Mark Payonk and James Katula as candidates for the seat vacated by Alderman Paul Wechet. Wechet, who has served six consecutive terms, at the end of last year that he won't pursue another term in the April election.
