Wintery Weather on the Way; Police Nudge Residents to Follow Parking Guidelines

More snow is expected, starting at 4 p.m. through tomorrow morning. Oak Forest Police ask that residents mind parking guidelines in snowy conditions.

With a winter weather advisory from the National Weather Service, the city of Oak Forest and Oak Forest Police have issued their own warning — residents need to stick to the city's parking guidelines after a major snowfall.

The snow is expected to start around 4 p.m. this afternoon, followed by a freezing drizzle later tonight. The warning extends overnight, as conditions might continue. Snowfall is estimated to total 2 to 4 inches.

Police remind residents that the city's snow parking ordinance prohibits street parking within 12 hours of a snowfall of 2 or more inches. Police will ticket or tow cars parked in violation of the ordinance.
