Two Youths Stabbed Shortly after Fireworks Display

The victims tell police they were stabbed at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday just down the street from Oak Fest.

Two juveniles were stabbed late Wednesday night about two blocks from Oak Fest.

The two victims, who reportedly provided little information to authorities about their attackers, told police they were in the area of Long Avenue and 155th Street at about 10:15 p.m. when they were stabbed.

Police said they received a call about the stabbing at around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday after the victims had reportedly moved to the 16000 block of Forest.

One of the juveniles said they were down the block from Oak Fest, according to police. The festival was located near the intersection of 157th Street and Long and had closed down at 10 p.m. after the annual fireworks display.

“One victim was uncooperative. The other provided minimum information,” said .

The only description given was for the attacker was a man with long hair, police said.

This attack mirrors a that happened after the July 4, 2011 fireworks at Oak Fest.

Both victims were hospitalized for their injuries but it was unclear Thursday if they had been released. One suffered a stab wound to chest and two wounds to a leg. The second victim had two wounds to his thigh.

No arrests have been reported in connection with the stabbing.
