Teen Driver Cited for Accident at 167th and Cicero

A 15-year-old Oak Forest resident was cited for causing an accident at the intersection of 167th Street and Cicero Avenue Thursday night. No injuries were reported.

An Oak Forest resident is facing two traffic violation citations after an accident at 167th Street and Cicero Avenue around 10 p.m. Thursday.

The driver, a 15-year-old, was turning left on to northbound Cicero Avenue when their vehicle was struck by an oncoming SUV, according to an Oak Forest Police report.

The oncoming SUV struck the passenger side of the vehicle driven by the 15-year-old, but both drivers and all passengers in the two vehicles refused medical attention at the scene.

Witnesses at the scene said the SUV had a green light and that the minor turned into the SUV's path, according to the report.

The 15-year-old was cited with improper turning into oncoming traffic and driving without a valid permit.
