Teen Busted for Alleged DUI: Oak Forest Police Blotter

TUESDAY, MARCH 5

Possession of Paraphernalia, Cannabis

Rory M. Scanlan, 19, of the 15600 block of S. New England Avenue, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis, following an incident in the 15200 block of Linden Drive.

Police were called to the scene by a resident, who reported a suspicious vehicle parked on the block.

Officer arrived and began speaking with Scanlan, immediately smelling a strong odor of burnt cannabis when Scanlan rolled down his window, according to the report.

Officers asked Scanlan to get out of the car and placed him in handcuffs, so they could safely search the car. During the search, officers found a glass smoking pipe, with burnt cannabis residue in it, along with a small cellophane baggie containing cannabis in the center counsel of the vehicle.

The vehicle was towed to the impound lot, while Scanlan was cited and released.

Stolen Electronics

Police were called to a home in the 16000 block of Debra Lane, after a resident reported his laptop and wireless router were missing from his home.

At the scene, police spoke with the victim, who said that he first noticed the two items were missing five days ago, but waited to contact police because he wanted to make sure none of his friends had borrowed the items.

The victim said that he thought it was possible somebody broken in through an unsecured basement window, but officers found no items disturbed on the window ledge. The victim then said it could have been one of his son's friends, as the victim and his wife work midnights and their son has friends over without permission some nights, according to the report.

MONDAY, MARCH 4

Car Gets Unwanted Paint Job

Police were called to a home in the 16800 block of Forest Avenue, after a victim reported damage to her car.

At the scene, police spoke with the victim, who said sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) spraypainted her car. The victim said that her ex-boyfriend's friend was making threats to her the day prior and suggested putting up security cameras around her house, according to the report.

Police went to speak with the friend, who denied having an involvement in the incident.

The victim said that she would pursue complaints if police found a suspect.

You're Too Young to Drink and Drive

Nicholas M. Master, 17, of the 14800 block of Cleveland Avenue, Posen, was charged with violation of zero tolerance, failure to drive on the right side of the roadway, no insurance, no driver's license on person, underage possession of alcohol and curfew violations, following a traffic stop in the 15100 block of S. Central Avenue.

Police originally stopped Master after watching him weave between lanes and speed.

During the stop, Master told officers he was 'trying to get by,' them for the reason he was driving like he was. Master was unable to produce a driver's license when asked and officers noted Master was speaking in a slurred manner, and had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his breath.

Officers put Master through field sobriety tests, which he failed, according to the report.

Master was then taken into custody and transported to the Oak Forest Police Department, where he blew a .156. Master was processed and released to his mother, pending an upcoming court date.
