Sun-Times Subscription Taker Disappears with Paper's Cash

Hired to recruit more readers to the paper and give away gifts, she absconded with the subscription money, the gifts and all the Sun-Times equipment.

Sun-Times subscribers are disappearing — and so are the subscription takers, it seems.

A woman hired to sell Sun-Times Media subscriptions at the Oak Forest Jewel made off with $400 in the company's supplies last week.

Days after she sold 30 subscriptions, her employer has been unable to contact her, according to police, who visited her residence March 18. While it was clear the woman had been there, she did not respond to the officers.
