Speeder Charged with DUI: Police Blotter

SATURDAY, FEB. 9

Drunk, No License and Speeding

Anthony C. Bradford, 49, of the 4400 block of Flossmoor Road, Country Club Hills, was charged with speeding over the posted limit, failure to signal, no valid proof of insurance and driving under the influence of alcohol, following a traffic stop in the 16000 block of Cicero Avenue.

Police originally stopped Bradford after clocking him at 51 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Bradford was unable to produce a driver's license when officers asked. 

While speaking with Bradford, officers noted a strong smell of alcohol coming from his breath. He failed field sobriety tests, according to the report. 

Bradford was taken into custody and transported to the Oak Forest Police Department, where he was processed and released on bond.

THURSDAY, FEB. 7

Illegal Turn, Illegal Drugs

Jimmie Briggs, 39, of the 16600 block of Oxford Drive, Markham, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, after a police stop in the 16200 block of Cicero Avenue.

Police stopped Briggs after witnessing him make an illegal turn, according to the report.

During the stop, police spoke with Briggs, noting the smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle. Police searched the car and found one cannabis cigarette in the cupholder.

Briggs was cited and released.

 WEDNESDAY, FEB. 6

Speeding and Possession

Jonathan E. Scott, 19, of the 15900 block of Leclaire Avenue, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, after a police stop.

Officers smelled burnt cannabis and Scott admitted to recently finishing a blunt, according to the report. Officers searched the car and found three metal pipes used for smoking cannabis.

Scott told the officers the pipes were his and he was issued a citation.
