CHICAGO HEIGHTS
Sept. 15: Jennifer J. Bleck, 54, of the first block of East Manchester Drive, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped her near the intersection of 21st Street and Chicago Road for speeding and crossing over the yellow dividing line, according to the report. As police approached her vechicle they saw Bleck pouring breath mints into her mouth, according to the report. Bleck smelled like an alcohol beverage and told police she had two beers during the night. Police had Bleck take field sobriety tests before taking her into custody. She was also charged with speeding, improper lane usage, and having a blood-alcohol level above .08, police said.
FRANKFORT
Sept. 22: Abby R. Yockey, 22, of the 19300 block of Beechnut Drive in Mokena, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving without insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident by Will County Sheriff's officers after a crash that left the front passenger wheel of her car hanging off of a 2-foot drop in the construction zone at South Frankfort Square and U.S. Route 30.
Sept. 21: John Scrementi, 29, of the 400 block of Wood Street in Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident by Will County Sheriff's officers after he hit a squad car that was parked on the side of the road on St. Francis Road at South Graceland Lane with its emergency lights on.
PALOS HEIGHTS
Sept. 22: Fabian M. Lopez, 20, of the 7900 block of West 164th Place in Tinley Park, was charged with driving under the influence alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to signal lane change and speeding, according to a report. Lopez's vehicle was stopped at about 2:07 a.m. near 12000 S. Harlem Ave. Police said Lopez was speeding and that they could smell an odor of alcohol coming from him. He was arrested, booked and given a $3,000 bond.
Sept. 15: Renee Rodriguez, 35, of the 2100 block of Gunderson Avenue in Berwyn, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol level greater than 0.08 and speeding, according to a report. Palos Heights police said Rodriguez's vehicle was stopped near 11800 S. Harlem Ave. An investigation by police led to the drunken driving charges. Rodriguez was issued a $1,000 bond and given a court date of Oct. 23.
Sept. 8: Michael A. Adelman, 23, of the 9000 block of Windsor Drive in Palos Hills, was arrested by Lemont police at 2:33 a.m. at Archer Avenue and McCarthy Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage. Adelman was issued an Oct. 17 court date in Bridgeview.
TINLEY PARK
Sept. 9: Shane M. McDonald, 31, of the 5100 block of Shadowcreek Drive in Oak Forest, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after he rear-ended a car around 6 p.m., at the stoplight at 80th Avenue and 167th Street, then drove off, according to the report.
An officer pursued McDonald and pulled him over in the 16500 block of Crescent Avenue, the report stated. McDonald was taken into custody after slurring his speech, stumbling out of his car and refusing to take field sobriety tests, the report continued, adding McDonald also admitted to drinking earlier that evening.
At the Tinley Park police station, McDonald refused to submit to breath, blood and urine tests and repeatedly asked the arresting officer "to give him a break as Tinley resident," telling him that this arrest was "going to screw him," the report stated.
McDonald was released on bond, and his next court date is Oct. 12.
